Why ZaNa Hai?

Thank you so much for being here!

My name is Desiré, I purchased a piece of land 20 min from San Miguel De Allende. My intention and purpose is to honour Mother Earth and our shared humanity by restoring, nurturing and revitalizing this sacred land. Together with my soul tribe, we will collaborate to transform it into a welcoming community space where people can relax, reconnect, share, learn, heal, preparing them to pass on their authentic magic to their own tribes upon venturing back out into the world.

The Meaning of "ZaNa Hai"

One of the main purposes of this project is to honour our ancestors, ancestors that were from this land. The name ZäNä Hai honours & acknowledges Otomi language & Otomi people. Otomi are indigenous people of Mexico that inhabit a discontinuous territory in Central Mexico.

 Otomies & The Moon

The Otomi traditionally worshipped the moon as their highest deity. Even in modern times, many Otomi populations practice shamanism.

 ZäNä, The Queen of the Night

ZäNä was the moon, the Queen of the Night, the main deity. They called her the Young Mother who represented both Moon & Earth simultaneously. ZäNä in Spanish sounds like “sana = to heal”

 Hai means: Earth ... birthplace

The interpretation we give to the maning of ZaNa Hai is:

To heal our birthplace .. by the guidance of The Queen of the Night, the MOON

Modern education systems rarely teach us how to care for ourselves inside & out, how to be sustainable & independent from governments & institutions. The time is NOW and we want to hold space for such a sacred journey.

COMUNITY

We are meant to connect with one another, we are meant to serve, to share, to help & support ...  We are on this planet to walk each other home.

CREATIVITY

The connection to nature and to each other leads to creativity. In quiet moments of solitude, or in deep conversation, our minds & hearts open to creative magic that can restore our selves and the world.

Our land is just outside San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage Site,  recently Voted Best Small City in the World.

San Miguel is probably the most charming town in Mexico.

It’s a magical town filled with life, art, creativity… you’ll find beauty in every street from art galleries to adorable coffee shops.

It’s a 4 hour drive from Mexico City and a 1 hour drive from Queretaro International Airport.

Why are we doing this?

The world is suffering ... I know I’m not the only one witnessing and experiencing our society’s major systems broken, people don’t know what’s in their food nor know how to grow their own. The education system is failing our children by raising them into indoctrinated humans unable to be self-sufficient, unable to truly live and create a world of freedom, autonomy, collaboration and connection. mental illness is on the rise, and our physical bodies are suffering

We need to start healing, ourselves and the land ...

... our physical bodies and our communities, I want this place to do just that, I want teachers and transformational leaders from all over to come and teach their knowledge and wisdom ...

I want people to experience beautiful healings, aha moments, love moments, laughter, connection, awakenings …

I want the land to witness it all … and I want us all to protect it … 

I’m a dreamer, a believer, a single mother willing to do what I’m capable of to show my little son that there are many of us fighting with so much love and care for a brighter future for him and the generations to come …
